Message from the mayor of Montreal (source unknown, for now):

The Government of Quebec has invited citizens aged 70+ to stay home. Consequently, la Ville de Montréal and its partners are ensuring that the 211 line has the personnel to receive more calls from seniors, who make up 58% of the clientele of the Greater Montreal's social and community referral service.

The 2-1-1 line is a multilingual service (200 languages) that helps curb poverty and social exclusion by allowing citizens to find and learn about community and social services, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., 7 days a week.

If you are one of the Montrealers in need following the Government's latest directives, we invite you to call 2-1-1 directly by phone or access it online at: https://www.211qc.ca/en/

I also invite citizens to show solidarity with seniors by offering them help so that they do not have to leave their homes.

Visiting seniors in hospitals, nursing homes and CHSLDs is now prohibited until further notice, but nothing stops us from calling the seniors who are an important part of our lives! Let us stick together and fight against isolation and exclusion."
